Adopt Me: Elsa is a fluffy cuddlebug

She enjoys being around other dogs and would love a doggy friend in her new home to give her confidence

Village Media, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting special pets in need of adoption.

Elsa

Elsa and her litter mates were born in the care of the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society on Sept. 17 after their mother was brought to us in desperate need of a loving home. We think these pups may be Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mixes, which means Elsa will likely grow up to be about 70 lbs.

Elsa is a happy, healthy puppy. While an irregular heart beat was previously detected during a routine examination, additional cardiology testing found no serious issues. She has since undergone her spay surgery and there were no irregularities noted with her heart at that time.

She will need another cardiac physical examination in April as part of her preventative care. It is possible Elsa may outgrow any heart irregularities she may have, which have not slowed her down in any way!

“Elsa is a sweet, shy little girl looking for her forever home!” her foster parent notes. “She is a huge cuddlebug and thinks she is a lap dog, even though she is going to be quite large.”

Elsa is crate trained, has been sleeping through the night, walks well on a leash, and is well on her way to being completely house trained. She is very food motivated and knows her “sit”, “paw”, and “down” cues and is working on “stay” and “come.” Elsa enjoys being around other dogs and would love to find a family with a fun dog friend to give her confidence.

Elsa is an extremely lovable but sometimes timid puppy who needs an adopter eager to put time and patience into her training. If Elsa sounds like the friend for you, please email [email protected] for more information. To see more animals available for adoption, visit ontariospca.ca/adopt.
