Update:

The provincial government announced the launch of the Ontario Jobs and Recovery Committee Thursday in order to plan for economic recovery in the province once the CVOID-19 pandemic subsides.

Minister of Finance Rod Phillips says the committee will consist of cabinet ministers representing all sectors of Ontario's economy. 

Premier Doug Ford also described the 403,000 job losses in Ontario over the past month reported by Statistics Canada as a "punch in the gut."

Premier Doug Ford holds a press conference today at 1 p.m. from Queen's Park in Toronto.

He will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Peter Bethlenfalvy, Treasury Board President, and Rod Phillips, Minister of Finance, to make an announcement.

The press conference will be streamed live on Ford's YouTube channel, and Village Media will carry the livestream feed.
