A bit about myself... My name is Dave Minnema and I am running for councillor to help affect change in Ward 7 and Bradford West Gwillimbury.

My wife, Ada, and I have resided in Ward 7 of BWG for 26 years. We have been married for 33 years and have four adult children.

We are proud grandparents to a three-year-old granddaughter named Riley.

I have successfully owned and operated my own business for 25 years.

I have been involved in our community for many years, including coaching minor softball, coaching minor hockey, refereeing hockey, umpiring softball, scheduling umpires for different leagues, past softball executive, Bradford legion member, Bradford Lions Club supporter, ball team sponsor, and I have helped support many different events.

My goal is to ensure Ward 7 is well represented and that all issues that arise are dealt with expediently.

Revitalize Luxury Park by adding approved accessibility ramps and a splash pad.

Push to have streets and sidewalks maintained properly.

Work toward completing the Highway 400 Employment Lands for more local job opportunities.

Full support for expansion of our fire hall to better keep our growing community safe.

Review BWG’s new road occupancy permit fees.

Pursue the Highway 400-404 Connecting Link to help ease traffic congestion and commuting time.
