Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in Barrie on Thursday.

A campaign official with Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte Liberal candidate Dr. Brian Kalliecharan tells BarrieToday that Trudeau will be at Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery on Dunlop Street East for a campaign stop.

Trudeau will be at the downtown brewery at 2:30 p.m. The Liberal leader will meet with residents and other Liberal candidates from "across the region."

More details are expected to be firmed up later today when Trudeau's daily schedule is released by the national campaign.

Trudeau visited the city twice last year, including an unexpected stop at Barnstormer Brewing and Distillery on Yonge Street in July 2018 for wings and beer with his entourage, as well as an official visit to Georgian College's Barrie campus in March 2018 for a roundtable discussion on pay equity.

Recently, Trudeau has been facing controversy after instances of using blackface makeup in the past were discovered. Trudeau apologized, saying "this is something that I deeply, deeply regret."

Today, Trudeau will be in Delta, B.C., where he's expected to make another announcement on the environment before flying back east to a rally in Thunder Bay, Ont., according to the Canadian Press.
