York-Simcoe saw over 7,000 more voters at the advanced polls compared to 2019 election

York-Simcoe saw 20,947 voters come out to the advanced polls earlier this week for the 44th federal election. 

For the 43rd federal election in 2019, only 13,784 voters came to the polls in advance.  A total of 7,163 more people coming out to the advanced polls this year compared to the 2019 federal election in York-Simcoe. 

The number of polling stations across the riding has decreased for the upcoming election, with only 26. In 2019, there were 36 (not including mobile). There were four polling stations used for the advanced polls for both the 2019 and 2021 federal elections. 

In York-Simcoe, there are four election candidates: 

  • Scot Davidson, Conservative
  • Daniella Johnson, Liberal
  • Benjamin Jenkins, NDP
  • Michael Lotter, PPC

Election day is Sept. 20.
