NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF EAST GWILLIMBURY
*************************
On March 1, York Region opened vaccine availability to residents 80 and over (born in 1941 or before). To access a vaccine, residents are required to book an appointment in advance. Due to limited vaccine supply, appointments are released and booked quickly. York Region Public Health is asking residents to remain patient and watch for additional appointment booking announcements through york.ca, social media, in print advertising and local media.

“East Gwillimbury Council is committed to supporting our residents. Recognizing there are some technical barriers for some, we have put in place a number of options to assist our senior residents with making their vaccination appointment and coordinating transportation to the appointments, if needed,” said Mayor Virginia Hackson. “We will continue to work with our partners to find solutions to address any barriers, ensuring all of our residents have the support they need.”

Residents who are not comfortable booking an appointment online are encouraged to seek out a support person (caregiver, family member or friend) who can assist in booking an appointment on their behalf or use one of the following options:
