Agent will be taking questions on the music business

The next Collingwood Live and Original session will be a presentation by a music agent on navigating the business side of a music career.

Have a song to sing, but don’t know how to sell it?

The latest presentation by Collingwood Live and Original should be able to help. This weekend’s session is all about the business in music business.

Danno O’Shea is the featured expert in a session taking place Saturday, Jan. 12 starting at 7 p.m. at the Simcoe Street Theatre.

The presentation will include an interactive presentation on the process of releasing and promoting music today. According to the website, the session will also include a question and answer period so musicians can ask about next steps for their own releases. O’Shea is a full-time music agent who is currently managing and leading My Son the Hurricane, which is an internationally touring brass band. He is also the owner of Vegas Funeral Records and a booking agent for several Canadian Acts. He’s a student of Canadian Music Incubator Artist Management program, hosted in Coalition Music Toronto.

Tickets for Saturday night are $10 plus a $1.62 fee and are available online here. ‘

Collingwood Live and Original is a music initiative offering a series of events for songwriters and music creators to develop their craft and make Collingwood a recognized home for creativity and musical interaction.
