If you missed the screaming mobs of fans of The Beatles at their height, there is still time to get a glimpse of them this weekend in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Well, a Beatles tribute artist.
The Danube Seniors Leisure Centre is gearing up for a special event, Night with the Legends, featuring professional tribute artists on stage performing music by The Beatles, Whitney Houston, Shania Twain, Madonna, and Buddy Holly.
“It’s a great show. Everybody knows the songs,” said Elena Chisholm of EPC Management & Entertainment, who organizes the event each year.
“You never got to see Buddy Holly, but now this Buddy is playing.”
Three performance artists will be on stage this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Simcoe Road centre, putting on a show with soundtracks, she said.
Snacks and refreshments will also be available at the show.
Instead of paying $200 to see a big-time artist, people can see them in real life and it is almost just as good, said Chisholm.
The three-hour show is a big fundraiser for the Danube centre, and proceeds will go toward interior improvements, such as a new copier, and new curtains and blinds, she added.
Tickets to the concert are $25 each, available to anyone in the community, not just members, at the centre at 715 Simcoe Rd.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the concert starts at 7 p.m. sharp.
