Three Toronto men are facing charges after a two-vehicle crash involving a police chase in Bradford West Gwillimbury last week.

The men, aged 31, 32 and 40, are each charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, according to Sue Sgambati, corporate communications specialist for South Simcoe Police Service, in a press release Monday.

As well, the 32-year-old man is charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failure to stop for police causing bodily harm, she said.

The vehicle collided with a pickup truck July 24 on County Road 88. All three passengers were taken to hospital, along with the 54-year-old male driver of the pickup truck.

All of them were listed last week in serious but stable condition.

County Road 88 was closed for several hours after the crash between Highway 400 and 10 Sideroad.

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) invoked its mandate and is investigating the incident.

The organization investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the lead SIU investigator at 1-800-787-8529, and anyone with video evidence is asked to upload the video through the SIU website.

The South Simcoe police traffic unit is also asking for witnesses of the crash to contact them at 905-775-3311 or 705-436-2141, ext. 2035.
