Area brewery's lastest release supports brain cancer research

Market Brewing will donate a portion of the sales of My Friends IPA to #StacheStrong during National Brain Tumor Awareness Month in May

Next time you raise a glass, you can choose to support brain cancer research.

Newmarket brewery Market Brewing Company is launching an IPA and a collaboration with StacheStrong, a non-profit organization devoted to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research.

Throughout May, a portion of sales from Market Brewing's latest release, My Friends - Double West Coast IPA "will be donated in the mission of flipping the script on this disease," according to the company's news release.

While Ontario's stay-at-home order bans people from coming out to enjoy a pint of the beer, Market Brewing is open for retail purchases through curbside pickups and delivery throughout York Region.

"Our brewery will be donating to our friends at #StacheStrong to show our support during National Brain Tumor Awareness Month," the company states.

Market Brewing continues to offer its weekly Tuesday Trivia games that moved online when the initial lockdown occurred last March.

"With the continuing lockdowns being tough for everyone, the online trivia has turned into a break in the action, as well as something refreshing for everyone's mental health to safely hang with so many great folks online," they say.

While Tuesday Online Trivia, which runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., is free, players are encouraged to make a $10 donation to Hockey For Grace "which is a fantastic cause that raises funds for Emily's House, a children's hospice in Toronto."

"Hockey For Grace has been unable to run their annual hockey tournament, so this was another way for Market Brewing to help another local charity during this difficult time," the company says.
