Auxiliary officers honoured for service with OPP

Auxiliary Staff Sgt. Andy McDougall named Auxiliary Member of the Year, while Auxiliary member Kyle Jones receives 10-year service coin

Members of the Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to recognize two auxiliary members who have both been presented awards this month.

Auxiliary Staff Sgt. Andy McDougall started his career with the OPP as an auxiliary member in North Bay in 1995. Since that time, he relocated to Nottawasaga OPP and in 2021 was promoted to the role of auxiliary staff sergeant. Recently, he received the OPP Accolade 2021 Award of Excellence for Auxiliary Member of the Year.

Auxiliary member Kyle Jones received his 10-year service coin, which was presented by Auxiliary Staff Sergeant Andy McDougall, during a monthly training session. Kyle started his OPP Auxiliary career with the Orillia detachment while he was attending University. He transferred to the Nottawasaga detachment roughly six years ago and balances working full time for municipal bylaw, being a husband and father, and an auxiliary member.

Command staff and detachment members would like to congratulate these members as they serve our communities adhering to our values by serving with pride, professionalism and honour, interacting with respect, compassion, and fairness while leading with integrity, honesty and courage. Congratulations Andy and Kyle!
