July has been hot, hot, hot – making it the perfect month for a Caribbean Festival at the Bradford Farmers’ Market.
Besides the heat, market-goers can expect to hear the sounds and enjoy the tastes of the Caribbean on July 20, when musician Kenn Lewis will play his steel drums, and local food vendors may offer rum-based baked treats and spicy Jamaican patties for hungry shoppers.
Each week at the market, vendors sell fresh produce from local farms, local honey, fresh eggs, baked goods and treats, European smoked meats, fresh cuts of grass-fed and barley-finished meat from Thor Farm, maple-based sauces, preserves and dips, and much more.
This Saturday, they’ll be joined by local artisans, offering shoppers a fun and festive atmosphere at Caribbean Fest.
The Bradford Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday morning, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the east parking lot at the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library and Cultural Centre, 425 Holland St. W., rain or shine.

The Bradford Lions Club will also be on hand, selling $120 tickets for their Mammoth Draw, and the chance to win a share of $115,222 in prizes – including cash, a second prize of a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu, and grand prize of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The next Early Bird Draw for $1,000 in cash will take place at Carrot Fest on Aug. 17.
