Bradford gets McHappy

Bradford District High School Principal Peter Stone volunteered for McHappy Day just in time for the daily flood of high school students on lunch break.

It’s the happiest day of the year at McDonald’s.

May 2 is McHappy Day, and at restaurants across the country “celebrity servers” are joining staff and franchisees in promoting the annual fundraiser, donating $1 from every sale of a Happy Meal, Big Mac and hot McCafe beverage to Ronald McDonald House and children’s charities.

At the Bradford McDonald’s, local celebrities included police officers, community leaders, and Bradford District High School principal Peter Stone, who took his place behind the counter just in time for the daily flood of high school students on lunch break.

Ronald McDonald House Charities in Toronto provides a home away from home for families of children with serious illnesses, who are receiving treatment in hospital. The facility offers space for 81 families each day, as well as family rooms at hospitals such as SickKids.
