With less than one half of the year over, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has spent 107 per cent of its winter maintenance budget for the entire year, according to a report.

But town staff are not worried.

“It does fluctuate based on weather events the town experiences,” said Treasurer Ian Goodfellow.

The town also has funds on-hand to balance out the budget for the rest of the year, when snowy weather returns in the fall, he added.

“The money from surpluses in winter maintenance from prior years was transferred to the Tax Rate Stabilization Reserve and can be used to offset an overage on this budget line,” read a report on the town’s financials so far this year.

The report noted the winter maintenance budget is the “only area of concern.”
