Bradford Minor Atom AE Bulldogs overpower Aurora in York-Simcoe playoffs (9 photos)

Bulldogs sweep Aurora in three games

Bradford Bulldogs Minor Atom AE squad faced the Aurora Tigers in the York-Simcoe Playoffs.

The Bulldogs won their first two games in the series, beating the Tigers 6-1 at the Bob Fallis Sports Centre on Feb. 18, and 6-5 in Aurora on Feb. 21.

Game 3 took place back in Bradford on Sunday, at the BWG Leisure Centre’s Green Pad, and the team came prepared to sweep the series.

The Bulldogs showed no mercy, skating faster, charging harder, and passing the puck with precision, to eliminate Aurora, 11 to 1.

Bradford had a 3-0 lead by the time the first period ended.

The Tigers scored their first and only goal with just over seven minutes remaining in the second frame – but then it was all Bulldogs, with breakaways and even a backhanded shot that found the net, to make it 6-1.

The Bulldogs continued to dominate in the third period, killing a penalty and racking up another 5 goals – including a final goal with less than 28 seconds left – before the final buzzer sounded.

Easton Merry (#3) and Antonio Corsi (#97) had a hat trick apiece, Jonathon Ferragine (#7) notched a pair, and Noah Botas (#34) , Sandro Gucciardi (#16) , and Evan Caetano (#91) each scored once– as the team moves on to the next round in playoff action.
