If you speed down a street in Bradford West Gwillimbury, you could soon get a warning letter in the mail.

Town staff will report back to council at a later date on a Traffic Committee recommendation to look into the use of photo radar units, council voted Tuesday night.

“It’s moveable; we can move it around,” said Deputy Mayor James Leduc, who is a member of the committee. “At least it allows them a warning. (It’s) more of an embarrassment for them. We can see how it works in our community.”

Coun. Peter Ferragine, who is also on the committee, said education campaigns do not seem to be slowing drivers down.

“Education doesn’t seem to get through a lot of people’s heads,” he said. “Something needs to get done.”
