Bradford's oldest resident marks a milestone at Bradford Valley (6 photos)

'You're a gem at Bradford Valley,' mayor tells Frances Kneeshaw, who celebrated her 105th birthday Wednesday

Beautifully dressed and elegant, Frances Kneeshaw was surrounded by the family members and friends who came out to celebrate her birthday.

Her 105th birthday.

On Aug. 14, Frances Kneeshaw turned 105 – making her “the oldest person in Bradford West Gwillimbury,” said special guest, BWG Mayor Rob Keffer. “Born, raised and lived pretty well all your life in Bradford West Gwillimbury – you’re a gem at Bradford Valley.”

Kneeshaw has been a resident of Bradford Valley Care Community since 2006 and has been an active card player, trivia night participant and member of the Residents’ Council.

Although she has slowed down in recent years, she is still very much part of the care community.

“It is an honour to have you and your family’s heritage as part of Bradford West Gwillimbury,” said Mayor Keffer.

There were balloons, a birthday cake, and more; “Elvis” was in the building to entertain guests and residents, and congratulate Kneeshaw on her milestone.

And while other residents born in August were recognized, it was Frances Kneeshaw who was the centre of attention.

Kneeshaw, who has two sons, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, responded with her million-dollar smile.
