Bubble Bash in Bradford brings kids out to play (4 photos)

Event was part of the Bradford library's summer reading club

The west lawn at the Bradford Public Library has become the new 'Commons' of Bradford West Gwillimbury – a public open space, for community gatherings that range from Music in the Park to Wednesday’s Bubble Bash.

The bash was an afternoon of games, beach balls, skipping ropes, freezies and soap bubbles, organized as part of the library’s TD Summer Reading Club program.

The Reading Club is open to kids of all ages. Offered at more than 2,000 libraries coast to coast, the goal of the club is to celebrate Canadian authors and stories, offer theme-related activities, and inspire children not only with a “life-long love of reading,” but the confidence to explore, do, and write.

The theme of this year’s Summer Reading Club is ‘feed your passions’ – a challenge to try new things, and discover new activities and interests that inspire and delight.

Kids register at their local library, earn stickers and rewards for the books they read – both at the library and online – and they are invited to parties, like the Bubble Bash.
