Celebrating 35 years in Bradford with charity auction (5 photos)

A silent auction at the event raised about $950 for the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County.

For 35 years, Bradford Print Shoppe has been a part of the business scene in Bradford West Gwillimbury, and part of the community.

On June 15, store owner Mikki Nanowski and staff said thank you to the community, with a celebration barbecue and fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County.

Members of the Bradford Lions Club were on-hand, cooking up hotdogs and hamburgers for a donation — and raising $300 for the Alzheimer society.

Jimmy Skerratt of Ninth Line Band drew together bandmates Joe Brett, Jeremy Brett and Danny Smith to provide the live music. The BBSS Band, named after their last names, played the classics, and had guests singing along.

Noted Skerratt said, “30 years ago, Mikki used to print our band posters!”

And Nanowski and her team were everywhere, handing out free T-shirts, mugs and pens, serving up cake and cupcakes, posing for photos, and encouraging visitors to bid on the silent auction.

The auction, of donated items that ranged from original artwork, to a Roger Federer tennis racquet, raised approximately $950 for the Alzheimer society.
