Charges laid following head-on collision

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH - On June 8, 2018 at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of a serious personal injury collision on the 5th Line of New Tecumseth, just east of County Road 10. 

The collision involved a black Nissan which was travelling west on the 5th Line with three male occupants and a blue Ford Escape which was travelling east on the 5th Line with a lone female driving the vehicle.

The vehicles collided head on. Officers were assisted with this investigation at the scene by Central Region Technical Collision Investigators.

On Oct. 13, 2018 as a result of this investigation, the driver of the westbound black Nissan, a 20-year-old male from Barrie, Ont., was arrested and charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking and will appear in Court Nov. 15, 2018, in Bradford.
