Cold weather? No problem! Bradford Farmers’ Market moves indoors

Bradford West Gwillimbury shoppers have seven more markets to check out until Christmas

The vendors of summer are back.

The Bradford Farmers’ Market took a break after Thanksgiving, but now some of the market’s top vendors are returning to the library — this time, indoors.

For the next seven Saturdays — every Saturday in November, and three in December (excluding Dec. 8) — the Bradford Farmers’ Market will set up in the Zima Room of the Bradford Library, at 425 Holland St. West, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be fresh locally-grown produce from Lakeview Gardens and Springh Farms, baked goods from Kazak’S’Tand’s homemade goodness, Sweet Annabella’s tarts and pies, and The Polish Baker, Innisfil Creek Honey, Everything Maple & More sauces and dips, Say Cheese! artisanal cheeses (for the next two weeks, and Dec. 15), and more.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to find all of their favourites at the indoor market, and even try something new, such as romanesco, a cross between a cauliflower and broccoli.

“It looks like something from under the sea,” said Robin of Springh Farms. “It’s nice roasted. It keeps its shape. Great for dips! It’s one of my favourites.”

The first indoor market of the season, held Nov. 3, also featured fresh roasted coffee from Lake Simcoe Coffee Co., and live music by “Bluesboy Nicky” Lanaro.

“This is better than standing outside for hours,” said Market Manager Laura Vree. “We’re nice and warm.”

And, even better, she said: “There are seven more markets until Christmas!”
