The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit announced this morning it is closing its community vaccine clinics because of poor weather conditions.

The clinics are cancelled for Jan. 17, and those who provided an email with their booking will be notified via email.

The 29 Sperling Drive clinic in Barrie will remain open. Anyone who does not feel safe driving to their appointment can cancel and rebook for later.

Those who have appointments at the cancelled clinics will have to rebook them via the Ontario COVID-19 vaccination portal or by calling 1-833-943-3900.

The health unit said in a news release there are appointments available in the coming days. Those who lost appointments today could also attend the next community vaccine clinic, where they could be accommodated as a walk-in if supplies allow.
