Three Toronto men, aged 31, 32 and 40, were charged late last month after their vehicle crashed into a pickup truck on July 24 on County Road 88, which was closed for several hours between Highway 400 and 10 Sideroad.

The three men, along with the 54-year-old male driver of the pickup truck, were taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

The vehicle driven by one of the men charged, had been involved in a pursuit with South Simcoe police following a theft at Tanger Outlets in Cookstown, said police.

As well, the 32-year-old man is charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failure to stop for police causing bodily harm.

The SIU investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
