Centre celebrates Easter with crafts, resources and playtime

The EarlyON Child and Family Centre in Bradford is open weekdays and Saturdays, providing drop-in activities and special programs for kids up to six years old and their parents or caregivers.

In fact, the Bradford centre, located at 118 Barrie St. in the BWG Child and Family Services building, is open every Saturday morning, even on long weekends, offering themed special activities and crafts.

This Saturday, the theme was – of course – Easter!

Kids and caregivers dropped in to decorate Easter eggs and Easter baskets, and make crafts that included scientific paper eggs. They could paint, colour and play, and take their crafts home to celebrate Easter.

The EarlyON Centre offers access to toys, books, professional advice, parenting resources and play-time for preschoolers.

Operated by Empower Simcoe, formerly Simcoe Community Services, its goal is to create an environment of “belonging, well-being, engagement and expression, which promote the healthy development of children” – and to provide parents/caregivers with the tools they need to raise “healthy, thriving, resilient children.”

The centre is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon; and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 7 p.m. Programs are free.

For more information, see here or call 905-775-3039, ext. 2404.

The centre is closed for Easter Monday.
