Human Endeavour, Enterprise Promotion and Innovation Centre (EPIC), and their partners are offering free training opportunities for Bradford West Gwillimbury residents.
A series of one-day training sessions offer participants the opportunity to receive hand-on instruction in website design, computer networking, and graphic design with Photoshop.
On Dec. 19, learn to Build Your Own Website, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at bradfordWORKS, 95 Holland St. W., Unit 105. This introductory session will teach participants how to acquire domain names, select the right hosting package and template, install WordPress, create posts and pages, add plug-ins and work with widgets – ideal for those looking for opportunities in web development, entrepreneurs and marketing/administration staff tasked with creating and maintaining a website. On Dec. 20, a one-day training session on Graphic Design with Photoshop will be offered at the BWG Public Library, 425 Holland St. W., from 2-6 p.m. This is ideal for those looking for opportunities in graphic design, and entrepreneurs, marketing and administrative staff wishing to create their own marketing and promotional material. Participants will learn types of graphics, interfacing with Photoshop – including editing, manipulation, plug-ins, and preparation for press and web. On Dec. 21, bradfordWORKS and Human Endeavour offer Computer Networking Training, for small- to medium-sized offices, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at bradfordWORKS, 95 Holland St. W., Unit 105. Participants will learn the skills and knowledge needed to successfully install, configure, operate and trouble-shoot an IT network (computers, printers, routers, etc.). Tailored for individuals looking for opportunities in the IT field or to manage their own offices, providing participants with the fundamentals of simple network design. Free due to funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Town of BWG, and the Bradford West Gwillimbury and District Community Foundation.
