Family Fun Fest an antidote to Carrot Fest fever

It was the 11th annual Fun Fest in Bradford West Gwillimbury

After the hectic pace of Carrot Fest, with its vendors, buskers, wrestlers, wild BMX stunt riders, loud bands and driving music, the Family Fun Fest organized by Bradford Community Church and the Bradford Baptist Church was the prefect antidote to carrot fever.

Fun Fest combined a sunny summer afternoon, the beautiful setting of Lion's Park - with its playground and splash pad - and plenty of free, family-friendly activities.

Games, draws, bouncy castles, hot dogs, snow cones and candy floss – and prizes for kids participating in everything from homemade Plinko, to basketball toss.

It was the 11th annual Fun Fest and, said Pastor Shane Fitch of Bradford Community Church, “our hope is that we would just be a blessing to our community. We’re so glad you’re here.”

He paused the activities to draw the lucky winner of a free bicycle being given away as part of the celebration – then encouraged visitors to “play more games, win more prizes, eat more snow cones and hot dogs!”

The volunteer-run event saw hundreds of families come out to enjoy the churches’ gift to the community.
