NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF INNISFIL
*************************
INNISFIL – Innisfil is under an Open Air Fire Burning Ban, effective immediately. Innisfil Fire & Rescue Services will now be enforcing an open-air burning ban to help keep the air safe and breathable for Innisfil residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ban will also reduce the strain on emergency response teams ensuring their resources are available for our residents if needed. During an Open Air Fire Burning Ban residents are asked to refrain from having an open flame of any kind, including fireworks. Anyone holding a Burn Permit may not have an open flame until the ban is lifted. This ban will remain in effect until further notice.

“This is another action we will be taking today to continue our efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19.” said Innisfil’s Fire Chief, Tom Raeburn. “The burning ban is in place to protect the community, to reduce the potential for gatherings and to protect first responders from any possible exposure.”

Public service announcements will be provided when the fire ban is lifted.

The Town of Innisfil is asking residents for their cooperation and to not burn outdoors during this period. The ban applies to all open fires, brush burning, chimineas, fire pits and backyard burning. Thank you for working with us to help keep our community safe. For further information on open air burning in Innisfil, please contact Innisfil Fire & Rescue Services at 705-456-2337.
