The clock tower outside of the Bradford West Gwillimbury treasury building could soon be surrounded by trees, flowers and lots of green space.

Bradford CAO Geoff McKnight presented a landscape plan for the front of the building to the Downtown Revitalization Committee earlier this month.

There is no official dollar amount tagged to the project, but more specific details, including costs, could be presented to council as early as June, McKnight said after a council meeting Tuesday.

Deputy Mayor James Leduc called the plan an “excellent, positive step” for the town’s downtown revitalization.

McKnight said staff is looking into whether any “underground infrastructure” in the space would be affected by the Holland Street reconstruction, so any issues can be addressed before any landscaping begins.
