GO VAXX bus rolls into Bradford

The bus was in town on Monday night parked in front of the BWG Library

The GO VAXX bus was in Bradford on Monday, accepting walk-ins and pre-booked appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The lineups were non-existent compared to a month ago when booster appointments were hard to come by. The bus arrived in the BWG Library parking lot around noon and will be there until 8 p.m.

The bus has been travelling around the province, offering a convenient option for residents to get their shot. Three patients at a time are able to hop on the bus to get their shot.

Newmarket resident Vasel Shabaneh was driving through town when he saw the bus parked in front of the library, advertising walk-in appointments and decided to stop.

"I was driving by and I saw the bus, and I need my booster shot," he explained.

Orett Brown and Annette Amos from Tottenham also came to get their boosters on the bus on Monday evening.

"We were just driving by (and saw the bus), and turned back," said Brown.

The pair are no strangers to the GO VAXX bus, having received their first and second doses on the mobile bus clinics in Brampton and Collingwood, respectively.

"We were like, hey! Here's the bus again!" said Brown.

As per the Ontario Government website, all GO-VAXX buses are providing the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for first, second, third and booster doses for adults and youth ages 12 and up, as well as the pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged five to 11. Each bus carries up to 300 doses per day.

If you would like to get vaccinated at a GO-VAXX bus mobile clinic, remember to:

  • bring your health card — if you do not have a health card or if it’s expired, bring another form of government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s licence, passport, status card or birth certificate
  • eat and drink something before you arrive at your appointment to prevent feeling faint or dizzy while being vaccinated
  • dress for the weather in case there is a line-up
  • wear clothing that allows for easy access to your upper arm, such as a loose-fitting top or a t-shirt
  • wear a mask that covers your nose, mouth and chin

Buses are fully accessible.

The bus is in town until 8 p.m. tonight.
