Here's a list of Bradford restaurants taking part in this year's patio program (5 photos)

Bradford is ready for patio season to begin

Restaurant owners can breathe a sigh of relief as Ontario enters Step 1 of the province's reopening plan today which allows for patio dining at local restaurants.

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury's temporary patio program is back for a second season with many local businesses taking part.

The patio program will be running until Nov. 1, 2021, on private property and public sidewalks in the downtown core.

Some patio spaces have expanded onto public property such as sidewalks and roadways and as such have barricaded walls set up around for safety, provided by local companies Ontario Barrier Wall and Utilicon.

“After months of lockdowns, stay‐at‐home orders and significant limitations on public gatherings during the COVID pandemic, the BWG 2021 Temporary Patio Program should offer a welcome respite for weary families, as well as an economic lifeline to many of our merchants who continue to struggle under pandemic restrictions,” said Mayor Rob Keffer. “Last year, municipalities were quickly thrust into this situation, leaving mere days to put a temporary patio program into place. This year, our staff worked diligently to prepare in advance, giving our merchants a generous amount of time to apply and put their patios in place.”
