Heritage barn destroyed in fire at Brooks Farms

Devastating fire destroys farm’s heritage barn

The fire that destroyed a heritage barn at Brooks Farms in Mount Albert has left the family and members of the community devastated.

The fire was reported on the farm's Facebook page last night around 5:30 p.m.

A post on the farm's page this morning read:

"It’s been an awful night for us at the farm.  We’ve lost our heritage barn, part of the playland and there is damage to our surrounding buildings.   We’re just so grateful for the mount Albert and uxbridge firedept (and a few others) for their help preventing us from losing our family home.
No one was injured - we are heartbroken but all safe. The market was not affected so we will still be opening today at 9am.  Thank you to everyone for your support and prayers. ❤️"

Their market remains open today until 4 p.m.
