Hop over to a Bradford Treasure Sale this week

From original artwork, to antiques, to books, to jewelry – the items that show up are totally unpredictable, and available for a donation

What’s amazing about the monthly Treasure Sales at Bradford United Church is that every month, new treasures are unearthed by church members, who donate items culled from their closets, cupboards, garages and attics.

From original artwork, prints and picture frames, to antiques and decorator plates; from housewares, to books and toys; from jewellery and handbags, to workboots and tools – the items that show up are totally unpredictable, and available for a donation to the church.

“It’s fun,” said Louise Desjardins. “We have our regulars that come every week. It’s so nice.”

Regulars or first-time visitors, some come just to browse. Others are hunting for specific items – like books for the grandchildren, wine glasses for a party, or even a crochet hook.

Visitors were encouraged to fill boxes and bags with their finds, then give generously, raising funds to help cover monthly expenses at the historic church.

The next Treasure Sale at Bradford United Church, located at 66 Barrie St., will be taking place on Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. – a chance to discover more bargains, and more treasures.
