Innisfil appoints new fire chief

Tom Raeburn first joined Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services in 1995 as a volunteer firefighter

The Town of Innisfil is proud to announce that starting today, July 26, 2018, Tom Raeburn will be the new chief of Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services. Raeburn was appointed by Innisfil Council last night at a special meeting, and has his first official day today.

“I am truly honoured and excited to have this opportunity to serve our growing town,” said Raeburn. “While our focus remains on protecting our community, we will continue to expand our efforts to educate residents of all ages about fire safety, in addition to numerous other initiatives.”

Raeburn first joined Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services in 1995 as a volunteer firefighter. He became a full-time member in 2000, moving up the ranks to become a fire captain in 2011, deputy fire chief in 2013 and has stepped in to act as chief on numerous occasions.

A committed and dedicated professional, Raeburn has led the replacement of two fire stations, the construction of a new station and he has worked hard to reduce emergency response times. Raeburn has numerous qualifications including the certification of Community Emergency Management Coordinator, Assisting Individuals in Crisis, Fire Leadership and Fire Company Officer.
