June 3, 2021, was no ordinary evening! 120 attendees came together online for the first-ever Raise Your Voice - Virtual Concert to celebrate care and culture in Simcoe County, all while raising vital funds to support both the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) and The Gibson Centre (GCC).

“The talent was outstanding and the concert was every bit impressive,” exclaims Jody Levac, Stevenson Memorial Hospital President and CEO. Jennifer Fortin, Executive Director of GCC adds, “Experiencing the power of music fueled our longing desire to gather once again when it is safe to do so.”

The Raise Your Voice – Virtual Concert was fun for all ages, music-lovers and community members alike, with an aim to showcase the incredible talent we have in the area and collaborate with local businesses through our online silent auction. Bidding wars on items such as the Maui Jim sunglasses from New Tecumseth Optometry Clinic, a Butcher Box from Sheldon Creek Dairy and a B&B Breather Package from Nottawasaga Resort, added some extra excitement!

From the comfort of their own home, attendees were blown away by the "idol-style" music competition grand finale, where up-and-coming singer Drew Snider, Innisfil local, took home the top prize valued at over $2,000. Performances from local headliner legends Marshall Dane, Sophia Fracassi, Erin McCallum, were a highlight of the evening, while they shared praise to Stevenson Memorial Hospital for being instrumental in their own health journeys and The Gibson Centre for being a home-away-from-home for them during their careers.

Together, we raised a net profit of over $17,000 through this unique fundraising event, which will be split between the SMHF and GCC. “Thank you to the performers, contestants, finalists, sponsors and community for their unwavering commitment to supporting care and culture – we couldn’t have done it without you!” says Melody McLean, Interim Executive Director, SMHF and Jennifer Fortin, Executive Director of GCC, with overwhelming gratitude.
