There are days when winter seems endless.

There may be sunny days, even days of above-zero temperatures, but they are quickly followed by days of bitterly blowing wind, ice and snow.

The Bradford Legion is inviting the community to laugh in the face of Old Man Winter, and laugh away the February blahs at a Comedy Show this Saturday, Feb. 29.

Four stand-up comedians will be providing a night of hilarity in the Legion’s Banquet Hall, located at 115 Back St. in Bradford.

Performers include Ernie Vicente – comedian at the Absolute Comedy Club; Daniel Shaw; and Nour Hadidi, veteran of the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, CBC’s The Debaters, and the Winnipeg Comedy festival.

Comedian Greg Enwright will emcee the evening. Best known for his “Sin Bin” Comedy, he’s promising a “clean” show for the Legion, since the evening is a fundraiser for Bradford’s new 37 Orville Hand Air Cadet Squadron.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m., comedy show begins at 8 p.m., with snacks, cash bar, and draws.

Tickets for the 19+ evening are only $25, available at bradfordaircadets.square.site or at the Legion - or at the door, on Comedy Night.

Come out, support the Air Cadets – and laugh in the face of winter.

Prefer to eat and dance, rather than laugh? The Bradford Lions are hosting a Roast Beef Dinner and Dance on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Bradford Community Centre, 125 Simcoe Rd. Tickets are $25 for dinner, and dancing to a DJ. For tickets call 905-775-9170 or any Lion. Doors open at 5:30.
