Here at My Sister’s Place we have been reflecting on the astounding amount of support that we received over this past Christmas holiday and winter season.

We would like to reach out and thank every individual, family, service group, church, school, business and organization for your thoughtfulness and giving spirit.

No matter the size or denomination of your donation, we are so very thankful for it. As we support our community AS A WHOLE over this time period, we acknowledge and appreciate people coming together and ensuring that those in need are not forgotten. The amount of donations that our shelter receives from November through to January usually ensures that we are able to offer service and support year-round. What an amazing accomplishment!

As we celebrate International Women’s day this Friday (March 8), with its theme of ‘Better the Balance, Better the World,’ we are proud to celebrate the many accomplishments of women locally and around the world as we continue to strive for gender equality or ‘balance’ in our lives. Groups and individuals have collectively acknowledged IWD for more than 100 years, and we encourage you to take a moment to consider your place in this ongoing journey each and every day.
