The Bradford Children’s Charity Fund Golf Tournament took place at the Bradford Highlands Golf Club to benefit Praveen Sritharan, a 12-year-old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
It is an inherited disorder, which usually affects boys, where muscles get weaker over time, according to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
All proceeds from this year’s tournament were presented in a cheque for $14,000 to the Sritharan family at Century 21’s Bradford office. The funds raised will go towards helping Praveen get the assistance he needs and toward the modification of a vehicle to make it accessible.
The event had a wonderful turnout thanks to the support that was received by members of the community and businesses in Bradford West Gwillimbury and surrounding areas.
“Without community support, a day like this could never have been made possible,” said Luis Moniz, a Century 21 Heritage Group Ltd. sales representative, who founded the event.

The Bradford Children’s Charity Golf Tournament sponsors a child or child-based program that expresses need within Bradford West Gwillimbury and the surrounding area.
