NEWS RELEASE
A BRADFORD CHRISTMAS
************************
It’s the season of giving, but for sisters Sarah and Emily Dahlgren, giving is a year-round thing. That’s why the two Bradford residents founded A Bradford Christmas, and since 2019, the registered charity has raised $75,000 for various charitable organizations. At the time, the girls were only 14 and 15 years old respectively, but five years later, they’ve set their fundraising bar higher. Much higher.
And they need the help of the community and beyond to make it happen.
“Our goal is to fundraise for worthy charities and to inspire the younger generation to get involved in community work,” says Emily. “Our mission is simple: “Giving like it's Christmas all year long,” adds Sarah.
For 2024, A Bradford Christmas is fundraising for Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, a cancer-support charity. And the goal? $100,000.
Since launching their campaign in the spring, A Bradford Christmas has run events like Bowling Palooza in Barrie and has an upcoming Silent (Online) Auction scheduled for November, as well as a Christmas Benefit happening in Barrie in December.
But with only 10 weeks until the holidays, the Dahlgren sisters are reminding everyone that they, too, can help.
“If we can get 1000 people to donate $100 each, we will reach our goal,” appeals Sarah. “If 5000 people donate $20, we will reach our goal.”
Every dollar contributes to the goal, and Sarah and Emily want to remind everyone that in this season of giving, we can all contribute to something grand.
