INNISFIL - Discover the creative people, projects and spaces that make our community extraordinary with a celebration of the ‘Maker Spirit'. The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will be hosting our fifth annual MakerFest on Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Rd.).
Free for both makers to exhibit, and for the public to attend, this is bound to be a memorable day of epic proportions, bringing together educators, entrepreneurs, artists and engineers as they unveil their latest creations, provide interactive activities and inspire curious onlookers.
This year’s festival will showcase:
How to in 10 – Learn how to use a defibrillator with Action First Aid, Meal prep with Dietician Lisa from Zehrs Markets, how to use the Kill A Watt Appliance Monitor with InnPower and so much more!
Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change – Makers Making Change connects people with disabilities. See 3D printed assistive technologies for you to try out!
Wallet 42 – Learn how cryptocurrency wallets work and how to send and receive bitcoin.
Metal Keys Design - Watch the different stages of how metal clay is transformed into jewellery with certified metal clay artist Tracy Lai.
Live Music - Musical Performance by The Fitzees.
Family Activities and Workshops – Something for the whole family, hackLAB projects with staff to ramps and hoops with the Mobile Youth Centre.
Food – Miss Richie’s Kitchen, Jamaican Food Truck serving delicious patties, curry goat, oxtail, jerk chicken and more.
