Man sought following indecent act involving little boy at Innisfil beach

Boy, 5, was not physically injured following incident at Innisfil Beach Park

INNISFIL - Police are searching for a man believed to be between 60 and 80 years old following an indecent act involving a little boy, Friday afternoon at Innisfil Beach Park.

According to South Simcoe police, the incident involved a five-year-old boy in the public washroom at the beach.

Police officers were called to the beach around 2:30 p.m. after the incident was reported.

When officers arrived, they checked the area for the suspect, but he was gone.

Police aren’t releasing the nature of what happened, however they did say the boy was not physically injured.

Police officials also said the boy did the right thing and immediately reported what had happened to an adult.

South Simcoe police reminds parents and caregivers to keep a close watch on children, especially in public washrooms. Children should try to use the buddy system as much as possible.

The suspect is described as an older, white man, approximately 60 to 80 years old, with tanned skin and white hair, balding, and an unusual eye. He was wearing beige shorts pulled up high, no shirt and was possibly wearing a chain necklace.
