Earlier today, members of the Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Civics hockey team faced off against students from Banting Memorial High School Marauders for a charity hockey game.

The charity hockey game took place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre, 7300 Industrial Pkwy., Alliston, at noon. The fast-paced game was a big hit with fans in the crowds cheering on both teams as they played in support of the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

The stands were jam-packed with spectators who all brought non-perishable food items or made cash donations to see the big game. Banting prevailed over the OPP with a 9-8 shootout win.

For anyone that missed the game but would like to contribute, please consider bringing non-perishable food items or cash donations to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

A big thank you to our media partners for attending the event and capturing this awesome community event. The Nottawasaga OPP welcomes any occasion to proactively engage with youth within the community and want to extend our sincere appreciation to staff and students from Banting Memorial High School for this opportunity. In holding events such as these, the hope is that we can build a foundation for students to have positive interactions with police.
