New Bradford retirement home expected to open this year

Drywall and carpeting being installed at The Elden of Bradford

The Elden of Bradford, a retirement residence for the young at heart is nearing completion.

The new building is located on 10 Sideroad at Line 8 in Bradford West Gwillimbury, right beside St. John’s Presbyterian Church, with whom it has partnered to bring quality retirement living to the community.

When will residents be able to move into their suites? The goal is “before the New Year,” said David McEachern, The Elden’s operations manager. “We’re still saying 2018.”

Drywall and carpeting is now being installed in the common areas, and suites are being completed — and sold.

The Elden held a series of open houses last week, with tours of the model suites and information provided by staff, who answered visitors’ questions about the facility.

Marketing manager Jaime Robertson was on hand to talk about The Elden’s amenities — regular transportation, valet parking, phone and cable TV, Internet, municipal taxes, meals and snacks, security, water, hydro, air conditioning, weekly housekeeping, laundry and social events — that are included in the monthly fee.

“Our residents range from 77 to 95 years old,” said Robertson.
