Philthy Philly's is the latest local business to join A Bradford Christmas for their holiday fundraising campaign in support of Hockey for Grace charity.

From now until Dec. 15, 75 cents from every order at Philthy Philly's will go towards the cause.

Owner Saleem Alfawagreh says he is happy to partner with sisters Sarah and Emily Dahlgren, the faces behind A Bradford Christmas, who host regular community fundraisers for local charities.

"I love the idea of being part of the community, I love the idea of giving back," he said. "I think that's one of the biggest things you can do as a business is to give back."

This holiday season they have decided to throw their support behind Bradford couple Chris and Amy Manning and their charity Hockey for Grace, in support of Emily's House, a children's hospice in Toronto.

The Mannings started Hockey for Grace in memory of their daughter Grace, who passed away in 2016 at just eight days old. The couple was able to spend their final days with Grace at Emily's House.

It was shortly after Grace's passing that Chris came up with the idea of the Hockey for Grace annual memorial game, allowing them to raise money for Emily's House.

Each year the game is played with funds raised going to Emily's House. But due to the pandemic, the charity has been unable to host games for the past two years, putting a damper on fundraising.

That's where the Dahlgren sisters felt they would be able to help and decided to raise money for the cause, with a goal of raising $25,000.

The young ladies recently wrapped up two silent auctions, with items donated by local businesses and funds raised going to Hockey for Grace. They have also partnered with other local businesses freshii and Sport Clips for fundraising campaigns.

One of the sponsors this year is the RICE Group, which has donated a special raffle prize of a boxed suite for a Toronto Maple Leafs game at Scotia Bank Arena.
