This weekend’s Santa Claus Parade is sure to bring out some holiday spirit — and road closures.
The southbound lanes of Professor Day Drive, between Northgate Drive and Holland Street, will be closed Nov. 17 from 4-5:30 p.m.
Then, between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., the roads along the parade route will be closed:
- Both lanes of Professor Day Drive, between Northgate and Holland
- Holland Street, between Professor Day Drive and Simcoe Road
- Simcoe Road, from Holland to Edward Street
The parade, which has a theme of A Night at the North Pole, will run between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Thousands of people are expected to come out and watch the parade.
Letters to Santa will be collected (address to Santa c/o the North Pole, HOH OHO), and South Simcoe Paramedics and volunteers will be collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys.
