The South Simcoe 4-H Dairy Club had one of its strongest showings ever at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

Every year, young 4-H members strive to collect points at local shows and events that will qualify them to enter their calf in the TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic at the Royal – a premier show that attracts young competitors from across Canada.

Competitions include Showmanship, in Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories, and Conformation classes.

The 40th annual TD Classic saw Jack Lange of Utopia, a member of the Cookstown 4-H Dairy Club, place 4th in Intermediate Showmanship with calf VC Langelands RC Somersby. His calf placed fifth, in the Holstein Summer Yearling conformation class.

Also in Intermediate Showmanship, Emi Lange of the Cookstown 4-H Dairy Club placed 10th, with her calf, VC Langelands OW Rosalie.

And in Senior Showmanship (ages 18-21), Matt Lange was the Reserve Champion Sr. Showperson, and Reserve Grand Champion, with his calf VC Langelands Jacoby Mojito. The calf placed 17th, in Holstein Summer Yearling Conformation.

Hundreds of young competitors came for the two day event at Exhibition Place in Toronto. This year marked the 97th year for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
