Blue Mountain will open ski and snowboard runs tomorrow, making this a record-breaking year.
November 15 is the earliest opening day on record for the resort, which is headed into its 79th season.
A news release from Blue Mountain states the recent burst of cold weather allowed for snowmaking, and all the natural snowfall helped them build up a base and open a limited number of runs before the usual ski season begins.
According to Blue Mountain Resort, the Silver Bullet High-Speed Six Person chairlift will be operating, giving access to Memory Lane and Tranquility, two top-to-bottom runs. The Easy Rider Magic Carpet will also be operating. A hike park will be available for guests on the Undergrad trail.
The runs will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, and (weather-permitting) Sunday as well. Lift tickets will be $29 plus tax, youth and senior tickets are $14.
Opening day will be celebrated with remarks from President & COO, Dan Skelton. Guests can enjoy music and prize giveaways at the base of the Silver Bullet, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
