The Bradford Board of Trade (BBT) aims to be the “voice of business” in Bradford West Gwillimbury — showcasing local businesses and reaching out to the community — and this year’s Home and Lifestyle Show demonstrated both of those goals, said the organization’s CAO Tricia Barrett-Butler.
Held at the Bradford and District Community Centre April 28, the show featured more than 65 exhibitors, including local businesses, entrepreneurs and service providers. They ranged from well-established companies and new startups, to community and not-for-profit groups, such as Helping Hand Food Bank and the Royal Canadian Legion in Bradford.
“It’s a little bigger than last year,” said Barrett-Butler, noting exhibitors such as the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, Bradford’s Arts and Culture Advisory Committee, and South Simcoe Police Service provided important information to the public and engaged visitors to the show.
The BBT did some engaging of its own, arranging for impersonators of Captain America and the Star Wars stormtroopers from the 501st Legion to be on hand to pose for selfies.
