St. Louis Bar and Grill host annual golf tournament in support of local autism school (9 photos)

Staff and customers of St. Louis Bar and Grill participated in their annual golf tournament in support of The Shining Through Centre for Children with Autism.

Bradford’s St. Louis Bar and Grill hosted its fifth annual golf tournament on Saturday afternoon at Bradford Highlands Golf Club in support of The Shining Through Centre for Children with Autism.

The event brought out 101 golfers comprised of customers as well as friends and family of the restaurant staff.

Last year the event raised $3,400 and this year they beat it, bringing in around $7,000.

Restaurant manager, Amber Morrison said it was a great event with many local businesses donating prizes and sponsoring holes.

There was even a dunk tank set up at the first hole, where golfers could pay $5 for three tries at dunking Morrison or $10 to have a friend sit on the tank.

Volunteer, Nicole Kim, was on hand to help with running the event. Her son is autistic and she is an advocate for raising awareness and providing support for those affected by autism.

“I think it’s fantastic,” she said about the event.

“It’s huge for this community.”

After the game, golfers and friends sat down to dinner with raffle prizes in the outside pavilion.

Utlicon Engineered Precast Structures was the title sponsor for the tournament.

Other sponsors included: Diamond Dreams Jewellers, Poleiro BBQ, Needham Promotions, Arbonne by Donna Katz, GoodLife Fitness Bradford, Ryan's Landscaping, Nine North Construction, Partner's Counselling, The Curtis Goddard Team, Verdant Integration Inc., ArmKing Bulk Water Delivery, Molson Canadian Lager, Labatt Brewery and Nutrl Vodka.
