SIMCOE COUNTY — safeword, with community partner The Gilbert Centre, proudly presents a three-part, online series of visual arts workshops called Arts Jam Studio Sessions! In conjunction with our 2SLGBTQ+ Arts Jam, we’ve invited three incredible visual artists to lead creative and interactive workshops for queer and trans youth. The Studio Sessions are FREE and will be held online via Zoom. This series is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the City of Barrie.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. EDT, multi-disciplinary artist En Tze Loh will explore multiple artistic mediums and entrepreneurship. On Sunday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. EDT, multi-disciplinary artist Rihkee Strapp will explore the history and contemporary expressions of Woodland Pop Art. On Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. EDT, Barrie-based artist Sean George explores queer culture, blackout poetry and collaging through an interactive activity.

Attendance is open to the general public but we ask that attendees centre the participation of queer and trans youth in the space. Come learn, draw, and create art with us!
