That's Amore, that's Pizza for Kids at Pizza Nova

Pizza purchases support kids at Variety Village.

The line-up started before 11 a.m. this morning.

As staff at Pizza Nova in Bradford set up an assembly line – dough, sauce, cheese, pepperoni and into the oven – customers came in to pick up a medium pepperoni pizza or two, for only $4.39 each.

By noon, the line extended out the door.

It was the 20th annual #ThatsAmore Pizza for Kids Day, when $1 from the sale of every specially-priced pepperoni pizza went to Variety Village, an organization that provides young people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in integrated sports and life skills programs.

Over the past 20 years, Pizza Nova has raised more than $1.5 million for the charity - $118,000 last year alone.

There was plenty of banter in the line, as the customers waited patiently for their pepperoni pizzas, or the vegetarian option – a medium cheese pizza for the same price.

Pizza for Kids Day continues at all participating Pizza Nova outlets, until 9 p.m.

Pizza Nova is located at 478 Holland St. West.
